A Texas Tradition Since 1974.

The Hallett family opened the first Soulman’s in Pleasant Grove on October 19, 1974, cooking the same family recipes we still cook today. More than fifty years later, those standards haven’t changed. We still smoke our meats low and slow over seasoned hickory and prepare our food with the same care that built Soulman’s from the beginning. It’s a tradition passed down through our family — and one we’re proud to share with yours.

We're not stingy with our meat.

It started with something the family believed from the first day we opened: give folks good food and plenty of it, and they’ll keep coming back. That hasn’t changed. We believe in hearty plates, generous portions, hand-sliced meats, and scratch-made sides. Around here, we don’t hold back — and there’s always more than enough to go around. Because good Bar-B-Que was always meant to be shared.

Treating customers like family since 1974.

Whether you’ve been eating with us for thirty years or it’s your very first visit, we’re glad you’re here. We believe good hospitality is simple: serve people well, make them feel welcome, and give them a meal worth coming back for. At Soulman’s, it all comes back to what we call the Soulman’s Winning Recipe: Great Bar-B-Que. Great Service. Great God. It’s more than a saying — it’s the foundation of who we are and how we’ve done business since 1974.

Feeding a crowd? We'd love to help.

Families, teams, churches, and businesses across North and East Texas have trusted Soulman’s to feed their groups for over fifty years. From an office lunch to a wedding reception, we handle the food so you can enjoy the gathering — easy, memorable, and every bit as good as it is in the restaurant.
